My first trip to this beautiful national park. One of the most popular trails here is Angels landing. It’s known for its steep cliff drops section and the amazing view from the top.
To get to this trail you get off the park shuttle at the Grotto stop. It is a five mile round trip hike, with the first two miles going up hill on a well maintained trail (usually crowded too) and then a half mile on a narrow sandstone cliff ridge. Most of this cliff ridge has cables anchored alongside the trail so that you can hold onto the chains as you go. But some parts don’t have those supports so it can be pretty dangerous and scary at points.
So while this is definitely the sketchiest hike I’ve ever done, it’s so worth the view at the end and the overall experience is just amazing. Just requires a little extra caution with all the steep cliff sides.
